William A. (“Bill”) Truban, Jr. was raised in Woodstock, Virginia. He and John Truban are brothers (and Bill is Jared’s and Erin’s uncle). Bill graduated from James Madison University in 1987, summa cum laude, with a Major in Finance, Minor in Economics. Before attending law school, he worked with Coopers & Lybrand (now Pricewaterhouse Coopers), in the tax department. He graduated from the University of Richmond – T.C. Williams School of Law in 1991, magna cum laude, and joined the Richmond law firm Williams Mullen. Bill returned to the Shenandoah Valley in 1994 and joined Owen and Truban, PLC. He has passed the CPA exam but does not practice as an accountant.

Bill is a member of the Virginia State Bar, American Bar Association, Winchester-Frederick County Bar Association (President 2011-2012), National Elder Law Association (NAELA), Virginia Elder Law Association (VAELA), and a member of ElderCounsel. Bill has been on the local Salvation Army Board for many years and previously served as Chairman. He is an Eagle Scout and a strong supporter of the Boy Scouts of America. He is a prior director of Belle Grove, Inc. and currently serves on the Evans Home Investment Committee. Bill is also a past elder at First Presbyterian Church.

Bill is licensed to practice law in Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia, and is an accredited attorney with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
